The Blood Collection Department at the ChristianaCare Newark campus is recruiting a Phlebotomy Technician to work day shift every other weekend and hours as needed during the week. Hours will vary and may be 5: 00 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m. or 6: 00 a.m. to 2: 30 p.m. Holidays as required.

Inpatient Hospital Experience or Nursing Home as a Phlebotomy Tech are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities Include:

-Perform venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks on inpatients and outpatients to obtain blood for testing.

-Follows established procedures for proper identification of patients, greeting all patients in a courteous manner introducing self and calling patient by name.

-Responds to all pages, answering promptly, giving status of present situation and location and approximate time until arrival at unit.

Requirements:

-A High school graduate or equivalent is required.

-Inpatient Phlebotomy experience is preferred

-CPR Certified preferred

-Completed Phlebotomy Training Program preferred.
