Task Summary: Under general guidance and according to established policies and treatments, obtains blood and other specimens for lab screening according to physicians’ orders. In doing so, obtains required products, validates patient recognition, prepares skin site, and performs venipuncture and skin leaks according to recognized aseptic techniques. Labels specimens and transportations to Laboratory for analysis.

Hours: Part -time; 24 hrs/week 1: 30 pm-10 pm numerous shifts throughout the week; Consists of weekend/holiday rotations

Required:

  • Minimum three months of on-the-job/clinical training
  • Valid Illinois Motorist’s License
  • Vehicle Insurance

Preferred:

  • Previous phlebotomy experience in an intense care health center setting
