About this Function

As a Phlebotomist/Driver, you’ll utilize your empathy and customer care ability to gather lifesaving blood donations from our volunteer donors and guarantee they have the very best experience possible. Responsibilities

  • Put in the time to personally get in touch with donors– listen to their stories and help them understand the worth of their contribution
  • Contribute to a friendly and enjoyable environment. Team up with your colleagues to keep our donors coming back again and again
  • Be detailed oriented all the time, every day, to ensure that the blood you collect fulfills goals, regulative requirements and can be safely transfused
  • To best satisfy the requirements of our donors and community, Phlebotomist/Drivers work a variable schedule including mornings, late nights, weekends and vacations

Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent needed
  • Customer care experience and efficient spoken interaction abilities are needed
  • Capability to work a variable schedule consisting of early mornings, late nights, weekends and vacations. Overnight travel may be required
  • An existing, legitimate driver’s license with excellent driving record is needed. Experience driving bigger vehicles preferred.
  • DOT accreditation may be required in some areas. If needed, must pass suitable DOT physical and related requirements and be able to possess or acquire a medical certification of at least one-year period.
  • Capability to load and discharge vehicles with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Physical requirements may include the capability to raise to 50 lbs., sometimes physically helping donors experiencing an adverse response, in addition to pressing or pulling heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs (potentially up to 250 lbs. in weight and with up to 75- degree angles). Physical requirements might be carried out in unfavorable climate condition
  • Fundamental computer skills are desirable
