” Regardless of sticking to Covid-19 protocols such as social distancing, sanitising, using face masks and guaranteeing that we did not go beyond the minimal 180 people, we have four positive cases,” stated Stats SA representative Trevor Oosterwyk.

It was uncertain whether they had been contaminated prior to coming to the workshop or got the virus throughout the training course.

The guests, who are all Stats SA staff members or agreement workers from Gauteng, are being screened for possible direct exposure to the infection.

” We are going to evaluate everyone,” stated Oosterwyk, adding that no one had been apprehended in their rooms. “We have asked individuals to remain in their spaces. However they are adults,” he stated.

The training course, arranged to finish on Tuesday, would carry on practically.

” The training might not be stopped,” said Oosterwyk.
