Phlebotomy EKG Service Technician


SUMMARY:

We are presently looking for a Phlebotomy EKG Technician to join our Laboratory COVID group. This full-time function will work a rotating schedule between days and nights (day shift start times fall in between 4 AM and 5 AM and night shift start times fall between 1 PM and 2 PM), consisting of turning weekends and holidays. This role is a 12 month short-term benefited position with potential for extension.

Under general supervision, carries out work which includes collecting laboratory specimens and/or performing EKG screening on inpatients. Get in information into the electronic health record (EHR) and/or the lab information system (LIS). Interacts and interacts with clients, their families, and members of the healthcare group by utilizing different communication tools in a prompt and professional manner

DUTIES:

General duties

  • Properly focuses on work based on order parameters and reacts to vital needs. Assists co-workers in completion of work
  • Perform standard procedures for determining patients
  • File specimen collections and screening according to standard operating procedure in the electronic health record (EHR) and the lab details system (LIS). Communicate any issues or issues with the client care team
  • Tidy devices in between client contact
  • Repairs devices in event of malfunction. Alerts Bio-Electronics and/or IT helpdesk if needed

Phlebotomy particular tasks

  • Perform blood drawing procedures consisting of venipuncture and capillary collection, standard labeling, and carrying specimens according to specimen requirements and standard procedure

EKG particular jobs

  • Performs electrocardiogram procedure and transfers data to EHR.
  • Runs and performs routine maintenance on EKG cart according to treatment
  • Follows important worth company procedure notification and documents

Qualifications

Minimum Education/ Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED

AND

  • Completion of an acknowledged training program for phlebotomy

OR

  • One year of phlebotomy experience

Preferred Certifications:

  • Qualified or accreditation eligible with a Nationally accredited phlebotomy certification organization
  • One year of experience in a hospital inpatient setting
  • Completion of an acknowledged phlebotomy training program with inpatient healthcare facility internship
