Responsibilities

The CPT-1; 1) performs computer data entry, filing, telephone interaction and other clerical duties, 2) possesses appropriate knowledge of the terms of tests purchased in the lab, 3) demonstrates appropriate phlebotomy technique and the usage of devices in gathering specimens from babies to geriatric patients, 4) processes microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry and blood bank specimens, 5) processes specimens for recommendation to recommendation laboratories, 6) stocks and orders regular materials, 7) preserves the tidiness of storage areas, trays, centrifuges, fridges, freezers and work locations, 8) procedures or loads specimens on automated laboratory instrumentation in accordance with recognized policy and treatments, 9) performs annual staff performance evaluations 10) provides personnel training and orientation, 11) evaluates and makes sure staff competency, 12) ensures staff compliance with all regulatory requirements, 13) develops and keeps policies and procedures proper to the department, 14) guarantees staff compliance with all laboratory and health center policies 15) supplies for a safe work environment in assessing and implementing PPE and other security phlebotomy gadgets, 16) Actively participates in the collection and examination of QA data for the advancement of Efficiency Enhancement initiatives, 17) Might help to Pick up samples at healthcare facility/ OR, assist laboratory specialty in sorting out samples for analysis and put away samples, assist pathology, inventory, replenish materials, order products, mail pick up/ shipment, faxing, responding to phone, product shipments, and so on.
