Mike Tomlin appeared to take a dig at the Broncos’ present quarterback woes on Sunday. ESPN press reporter Brooke Pryor asked the Steelers coach if he ‘d position an emergency situation quarterback in a “bubble” to avoid Denver’s dilemma and make sure the group would constantly have one available.

Tomlin’s response was telling.

Asked Mike Tomlin if they would put an emergency QB in a bubble to avoid a Denver situation:

” No, since we exercise all of the needed precautions in regards to the quarterbacks we have.”

But here’s the important things: The NFL fined Pittsburgh in early November for breaking the league’s coronavirus protocols. The team and Tomlin were fined $250,000 and $100,000, respectively, after Steelers coaches stopped working to use face coverings at all times during their 28-24 win at Baltimore.

So, Tomlin’s answer is a little hollow– especially after beginning running back and cancer survivor James Conner apparently evaluated positive for COVID-19

Even still, Pittsburgh seems to have at least one quarterback who can take the field when the group deals with Baltimore on Tuesday.
