A government consultant on the pandemic, David Hui, says he expects the administration to tighten up social distancing procedures soon, as infection numbers are now climbing up faster than during Hong Kong’s third wave in July.

The Chinese University infectious illness expert stated on Monday that he has informed the federal government to permit civil servants to work from house once again so that private business do the same.

” High threat activities need to stop. Karaoke lounges, concerts, they ought to stop. And restaurants should close 2 hours previously, at 10 during the night, so individuals wouldn’t be staying around shopping malls till so late,” Hui stated on an RTHK radio programme.

He said that as the weather turns chillier, breathing viruses are more active and so there must be tighter constraints.

Hui said that it is worrying that the existing wave of Covid-19 cases includes a greater ratio of infections with unidentified sources and it’s clear that there are numerous hidden chains of transmission in the neighborhood.

He added that abroad trainees returning to Hong Kong must get a 3rd coronavirus test 19 days after their return, on top of the two they already require to do before and throughout their 14- days of quarantine.

Hui stated this is because in a little portion of cases, people’s start of signs comes after 14 days.
