Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time/ Evenings

You Will Be Accountable For:

· Perform phlebotomy on inpatients and/or outpatients per procedure

• Properly determine the client
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Devices (PPE)
• Able to locate a venipuncture site
• Draw specimens in the proper order
• Properly label tubes at bedside/patient side
• Label tubes with time and Destiny id
• Apply dressing
• Appropriately deal with Sharps and Biohazardous material
• Provide specimens to the Processing area or suitable department
• Usage computer for different tasks
• Receive specimens
• Create and fax client reports when asked for
• Cancel tests at the request of the floor
• Produce collection labels
• Generate and work collection lists
• Register patients
• Perform lab assistant tasks
• Empty tube system, get and deliver specimens to Processing
• Answer telephone, solve problems, route requires others properly

Certifications

What You Will Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience, preferably in a healthcare facility setting, or conclusion of phlebotomy training course which includes an externship in an approved facility.
• Computer skills required.
• Great customer support abilities.
• Outstanding phlebotomy abilities

Job Summary:

The phlebotomist is responsible for getting blood specimens on inpatients and outpatients of differing age as needed. The phlebotomist needs to be able to get blood by the use of various phlebotomy methods. They need to be able to use the computer system for producing labels, collection lists and for retrieving copies of reports in addition to other functions. They should guarantee that all blood draws are carried out and transferred to the lab in a timely manner. They need to preserve a close working relationship with the nursing floors and the lab technologists/technicians. The job requires tact and compassion. They might also be required to work at other medical facility owned facilities or drawing at nursing homes. The job likewise consists of learning patient registration and test ordering and processing functions
