ChristianaCare is hiring for a Phlebotomy Manager to supervise and keep track of inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy services and staff at Wilmington Medical facility to guarantee precise and prompt performance of phlebotomy treatments. Hours set up may be 5: 00 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m. or 6: 00 a.m. to 2: 30 p.m. Weekends and holidays as needed.

CONCEPT RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Produces schedule for phlebotomists consisting of daily work projects for to ensure quality services and established turnaround times. Includes designating priorities for all collection demands and guaranteeing collection pending reports are completed prior to the end of each shift
  • Carries out timekeeping and payroll duties. Examines payroll errors and makes corrections as needed
  • Prepares and takes part in quarterly check ins and yearly efficiency reviews with phlebotomy staff
  • Makes sure prompt follow-up on performance concerns, guaranteeing compliance with policies and procedures
  • Prepares and discusses coaching and disciplinary actions (up to and consisting of first Action Pointers) for phlebotomy personnel
  • Guarantees that sufficient products are offered to phlebotomy. Orders products and/or delegates stock duties to team member
  • Investigates and responds to occasion reports as directed by WH laboratory supervisor
  • Takes part in the collection, analysis, and tracking of quality control information, as directed by WH lab supervisor
  • Identifies efficiency improvement chances and assists in staff involvement in gathering data/information, as directed by WH laboratory supervisor
  • Makes sure that campus particular phlebotomy procedures are upgraded a minimum of annually
  • Serves as a resource for phlebotomy concerns for staff and other health care service providers
  • Directs and follows all recognized LIS downtime treatments
  • Carries out all tasks of a Phlebotomy Service Technician and Professional
  • Reacts to all pages, answering pages immediately
  • Performs all responsibilities of a Laboratory Office Clerk and Receiving Clerk
  • Assists phlebotomy instructors, guaranteeing thorough training on personnel is complete

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma
  • At least 5 years of hospital-based phlebotomy experience
  • Clerical experience chosen
