Laboratory Assistance Professional (Phlebotomy)

Summary of Position: Performs phlebotomy techniques to obtain blood specimens on patients of any ages. Interprets and transcribes doctor orders onto manual appropriations and into the computer system Order Entry System. Carries out all medically essential activities needed. Assists in laboratory functions as needed for correct specimen accessioning. Assist in training brand-new employees. Assist in clerical functions of department.

Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate or GED needed. Prior phlebotomy experience preferred. Accreditation or eligible with a recognized board of windows registry suggested.

Valid New York State driver’s license needed. Must have the ability to be approved to drive under Saratoga Health center’s vehicle insurance coverage for shifts needing travel for offsite specimen collection.
